This fall is a time of rapid growth in the lab. In the last two weeks, three new members have joined our group. Vinson Doyle is a new postdoc who just finished his Ph.D. at CUNY/NY Botanical Garden. John Andersen is a new Ph.D. student who recently finished his Master's at Texas A&M with Jessica Light. Brad Nelson is a current Master's student in LSU's Dept. of Biological Sciences with a mixture of interests. Last year, he worked on community ecology in Richard Stevens' lab. Vinson, John, and Brad will all be working on the forensic application of phylogenomics to HIV transmission in small clusters. This work is funded by the National Institute of Justice and is performed in collaboration with the lab of Mike Metzker at Baylor College of Medicine.
